20 years on and still pedalling!

My wife and I are the proud owners of this quintessential Scottish county house hotel and are very hands on, working alongside our fabulous team. The house is situated peacefully in the hills above Contin, Ross-shire (just 25 minutes north of Inverness) with mature trees and beautiful gardens that have been lovingly created by our hard-working gardener Ana Ross. We take great pride in offering delicious food, a great wine list, a well-stocked bar, and a warm friendly welcome. Some would say Coul House is a deliciously relaxing place to stay.

Eat, drink and be merry with food from local chef Garry Kenley. Garry and I have known each other now for over thirty years, worked together for over twenty…. and would you believe, we are still talking to each other, well most of the time!

Never liked his dress sense, his taste in women or his management style but…the boy can cook, play the guitar, write songs and wax lyrical about everything from philosophy to trade unions and hits a mean driver down the local fairways.

Prides himself on being a traditional chef, makes everything from scratch from ice cream to pastry and everything in between. He certainly makes the undisputed best scones, shortbread and bridies in the area. Not to mention his steaks, venison, hare, halibut. Crab cakes, scallops, home cured salmon…
